Investigation continues into fatal traffic crash at Bayou and Inverness

An investigation is continuing into a traffic crash that claimed the life of a Pensacola man Sunday night.

The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Bayou Boulevard and Inverness Drive. The name of the victim is not yet being released pending family notification.

Officer Ronald Boutin said a truck driven by the man was northbound on Bayou Boulevard when the driver lost control in the curve near Inverness, over corrected and left the road. The truck then struck a parked excavator and rolled over. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected and died at the scene.
