Vases vandalized in local cemetery

Four marble vases and one granite
vase were vandalized overnight at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway.

Officer Britney Sturgeon said thedamage was discovered this morning by maintenance personnel and reported to
police around 9 a.m. The vases were broken off headstones and a terra cottavase that had been placed on a grave was damaged. Sturgeon said total damage was
estimated at approximately $2,075.

Cemetery personnel are in theprocess of attempting to notify family members, Sturgeon said. The headstones
did not have any markings on them indicating they were based upon recent vandalismsin Jewish cemeteries elsewhere in the country.

is asked to contact Pensacola Police Department at 435 – 1900 or Crime Stoppersat 433 – STOP.
