Woman who poured glue into ATM has been arrested

A woman who was caught on camera pouring
glue into an ATM after a debit/credit card was declined has been arrested.

Gweynn Marie Brown, 32, addressunavailable, was arrested in Jacksonville Wednesday (Feb. 15). Charges will have
to be released by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

A second suspect – Daniel Asano,25, address unavailable, also was arrested at the same time with Brown. His
charges also will have to be released by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Bothsuspects were in a stolen rental car when taken into custody on Wednesday.

Detective Joshua Hudson identified
Brown and Asano on February 14 after receiving information and photographs fromthe Walton County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects were wanted on charges for
multiple vehicle burglaries and check frauds in Walton County. They also werewanted in other cities throughout the southeast for various crimes.

Brown was wanted by the Pensacola
Police Department on two charges of criminal mischief totaling $1,000 or moreeach.

Both incidents occurred on
January 21. The first incident occurred at 11:53 a.m. at Beach Community Bank,4465 Bayou Blvd. Brown was seen holding a small tube of glue in one hand and
walking up to the ATM. After several attempts to access the machine failed, sheleft the machine, which immediately stopped working. The glue was later found
poured into the machine.

The second incident occurred aroundnoon at Coastal Bank and Trust, 4440 Bayou Blvd. Again, she was caught on
camera holding some glue in one of her hands while trying to make atransaction. After the card was declined, she poured glue into the machine.

Asano was wanted by the Pensacola
Police Department for two counts of fraud and one count of petit theft after hetried to cash a stolen check on Jan. 30 at Regions Bank, 5150 North Ninth Ave. He
fled the bank before police arrived on scene.

Hudson said Asano also has beenidentified as the male who was sitting inside a rental truck while Brown was
caught on ATM video pouring glue into a machine.

 

Hudson said the suspects will beextradited to Pensacola to face local charges. They also are under
investigation by the Escambia County and Walton County sheriff’s offices and byother law enforcement agencies nationwide.
