A promotion ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday (May 21) for the Pensacola Police Department’s newest lieutenant.
Lt. Stephen Davis, 44, will be honored during the badge pinning ceremony in the department’s training room.
Initially hired by the department as a cadet on January 2, 1990, he was promoted to police officer in December 1990 and to sergeant in August 2003. Among his assignments have been Uniform Patrol, Investigations, Vice & Narcotics, TAC, and supervisor of the field training program. He presently is assigned to the department’s Professional Standards Unit.
Lt. Davis was one of the supervisors in the 2011 Operation Blue Shepherd investigation, which resulted in the arrests of 25 men who arranged via the internet to have sex with children. He also is the current president of the Florida Leadership Academy Class #27, which is sponsored by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The badge pinning is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday and is open to the public.
